Going to the Kruger National Park for a guided safari game drive is an adventure you are likely never to forget. What to wear:
Your game drive attire should be comfortable, durable and functional. We also recommend that you avoid wearing white, as it is very likely that it will get dirty on a game drive. Here are some guidelines for your packing checklist:
- A light, breathable long sleeve top that will protect you from the sun and insects.
- Long pants that will protect you from the sun and insects.
- A warm jacket (especially for early-morning and evening drives).
- A waterproof jacket
- A beanie and gloves in case it gets chilly.
- Comfortable closed shoes
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- A snug sunhat or cap
Must-have equipment:
- Most of the time you will be able to get close enough to see the bigger animals without needing your binoculars. However, if it is unsafe to get any closer or you are an avid birder – binoculars will ensure you have the best viewing experience possible.
- A digital camera to capture your incredible Kruger National Park sightings – make sure you have plenty of memory available.
- A head-torch for early morning and evening excursions.

- A duff to protect you from dust or keep your cheeks, nose and ears warm during colder periods.
