Made up of grassy plains (Satara area) that thicken into the Mopani veld the further north you go. The grassy plains of Satara attract herds of zebra and wildebeest and the Mopani veld attracts lots of impala, elephants, buffalo and other diverse antelope.
Added to this, the area boasts some significant ruins from the late Iron Age, situated on a hill top known as Masorini, where iron products were made and traded! Masorini is just 12km from the Phalaborwa Gate, next to which our hotel is situated. So, not only do you get to experience the wonders of the animal kingdom but also get lost in a part of the area’s unique history.
